Portal, released on June 2, 1997, was designed as an introductory Magic: The Gathering set, simplifying gameplay rules and card text for new players. This standalone set features basic creatures and spells, making it an accessible entry point to the game without complex mechanics. Each factory-sealed booster box contains 36 booster packs, with 10 cards per pack, making it ideal for new players learning the fundamentals or collectors interested in Magic's early, simplified approach.
